Our Story
In 2015, having been diagnosed with a chronic autoimmune condition, Lupus, there was a need to make some adjustments to what I ate since diet played an important role in the management of chronic inflammation and pain.
In my quest to find whole grain healthier options for breakfast and snacks, I stumbled on the cereal, ‘GRANOLA’ for the first time. The typical Ghanaian in me, not so accustomed to seeds and nuts, I wondered how I was going to add such a cereal to my diet regimen. After sampling different brands of granola, none seem to fit my diet goal as most brands were packed with refined sugar, additives, oil, and preservatives.
It took 4 years of research and recipe testing to eventually come out with my African version of granola that had no refined sugar, preservatives, additives, or oil but was still tasty, crispy, and crunchy to help satisfy the needs of people with diverse health conditions who need healthier options.
Berk’s granola has a unique feel and taste which distinguishes it from other brands. With finely selected ingredients, our products are 100% handmade from scratch in small batches and hand-packaged under strict hygienic conditions with love from Ghana. Our commitment to making the healthiest and best granola in the very best way possible is not only what sets us apart, but that Africa Can!
